Oil-free compressor solutions for the water treatment

The setting of the task

Not only the taste is affected when water contains too much iron and manganese: sediments and microbial contamination in the water-leading piping system is resulting from this fact as well as growth of bacterias. The drinking water ordinance (TVO) therefore stipulates among others defined limit values for iron, manganese and other chemical constituents in the water.

The applications

At the water treatment (De-ironing, demanganization, or ozonisation) compressed air is lead /feeded to the water. Typical application sectors are as follows:

  • Water treatment of drinking water and raw water from well water
  • Water treatment of process- and feed water
  • Water treatment for the food- and beverage industry
  • Water treatment for swimming pools
  • Water treatment for aquariums

The solution

The construction principle of the oil-free compressors from Dürr Technik excludes a water impurity with oil constituents and thus ensures the quality of the generated compressed air – which is essential for the water treatment. For these special requirements our oil-free compressors are optimally prepared, as they are fitted with a special coating, i.e. protection from corrosion. Moreover, the perfect connection between environmental protection and cost-effectiveness is provided by the advantageous compressor characteristics

Based on long-time experience in the water treatment Dürr Technik is able to offer customer specific system solutions, which cover besides of the actual compressor aggregate the assembly of complete stations with relating pressure receivers and all required mounting parts, completed by the comprehensive accessories.
